The Destiny of Earth

Though you had not known a brother till I came

And gathered your offered heart into my heart

And with my soul your soul achieved the same,

For those born in the Mother who can part?

Now the days and weeks pass swiftly by

And soon I must return to a well-loved land

Loved and cherished for its panoply,

Not of my soul, (but then, you understand,)

The spirit's voyages are infinite,

No bar its aspiration can restrain,

And as you are possessed of inner sight

Know that I'll return to you again.

Long have I known that all proceeds from Her,

Called by Her what need have we to fear

The spirit's quest, for nothing can deter

Her children whom Her love has gathered near.

I have run upon the world's unending course,

Her mountains climbed and bathed in waters clear,

With joy have found my way with no remorse,

I am at peace, my soul is settled here.

For this I know, the Ashram is the base,

The womb in which the future shall take birth,

The crucible of an unending grace,

The final hope and destiny of earth.
